Acclimatizing in Ecuador

25 Nov

Two volcanos I climbed in Ecuador before tackling Cotopaxi: Rucu Pichincha (4705m) and Iliniza Norte (5125m).

Rucu Pichincha seen from the trail up, which climbs diagonally up the right hand face.

Iliniza Norte (R) and Iliniza Sur (L), as seen from the village of Chaupi.

While on the approach to Iliniza, we got a good look at the massive, and beautiful, Cotopaxi (5897m).  Little did I know that I would be climbing it a week later!
