I am on a break from my physical therapy classes until the new year. It’s only been about 2 weeks, and already I can feel myself losing ground. It will be good to get back to work!
Hand bike training
14 DecAnother day training with coach Steven Burke. I rode three km, two miles, during my training session. I have been dreaming of hand cycling for over a year, since early after my accident. Finally it is coming to fruition.

Rooting for a medical miracle!
8 DecAwesome, Ceara et al. It is so fabulous to see your dad on FB looking amazingly well. Too true that an expedition outside of the Foothills with fresh air and sunshine will add to his healing. Sunscreen may be required tomorrow – gonna be a hot one : )
Guitar
8 DecI want to hear you play my guitar…! Even poorly..
Thinking of you…a lot…

Breakthrough
8 DecThis is a real break breakthrough : it is my muscles that are pushing the pedals on the bike. A sophisticated control system stimulates my leg muscles so that they can push the pedals. After a few months of regular usage of this device, my leg muscles should recover some of their strength. As well my cardiovascular health will improve.
This is the first FES bike in Calgary. I am doing my best to promote awareness of this technology to help all quadriplegics and paraplegics. A huge thank you to all of the generous people that helped make this a reality! !
